VOLUNTEER

El Centro Hispanoamericano needs volunteers who are willing to commit themselves to a minimum period of time of three months with a minimum of two hours per week. The needs of El Centro are diverse and volunteers are given tasks depending on their skills. If you are interested in volunteering, please send us your name, address, phone number, and the type of skills you have as well as the amount of time you would like to volunteer. You do not need to speak Spanish in order to volunteer. We need persons to help us with ESL and citizenship classes, typing, filing, other clerical duties, make phone calls, data entry, maintain the cloth/food bank in order, as well as translations, etc. For more information, or to sign on as a volunteer, please contact Lydia Gamez.

INTERNS

El Centro takes motivated interns from NJ colleges and Universities. We take social work and law students who are dedicated to social justice and advocacy issues, regarding immigrants and immigration issues. We offer students a dynamic environment to work in as well as diversified tasks, including, but not limited to; outreach, intakes, service coordination, research, teaching ESL and/or citizenship classes, conducting community oriented workshops, petitions, direct service, help develop new programs and projects, etc.
