VOLUNTEER
El
Centro Hispanoamericano needs volunteers who are willing
to commit themselves to a minimum period of time of
three months w ith
a minimum of two hours per week. The needs of El Centro
are diverse and volunteers are given tasks depending on
their skills. If you are interested in volunteering,
please send us your name, address, phone number, and the
type of skills you have as well as the amount of time
you would like to volunteer. You do not need to speak
Spanish in order to volunteer. We need persons to help
us with ESL and citizenship classes, typing, filing,
other clerical duties, make phone calls, data entry,
maintain the cloth/food bank in order, as well as
translations, etc. For more information, or to sign

INTERNS
El Centro
takes motivated interns from NJ colleges and
Universities. We take social work and law students who
are dedicated to social justice and advocacy issues,
regarding immigrants and immigration issues. We offer
students a dynamic environment to work in as well as
diversified tasks, including, but not limited to;
outreach, intakes, service coordination, research,
teaching ESL and/or citizenship classes, conducting
community oriented workshops, petitions, direct service,
help develop new programs and projects, etc.
