Holiday Fiesta
Despite the threat of a snowstorm, El Centro’s annual Fiesta Navideña took place on Saturday, December 14, 2013 with nearly 250 children and parents joining the festivities. Activities included arts and crafts, singing of holiday songs, lunch and refreshments, and of course the much awaited visit by Santa Claus with gifts for all children in attendance. Christmas gifts were made possible through the generosity of donors to toy drives conducted by congregants of Temple Har Shalom of Warren, by students at Scotch Plains Fanwood High School, Union County Vocational Technical School in Scotch Plains, and the Gill St. Bernards School in Peapack Gladstone, and by members of the congregation of the Springfield Presbyterian Church. As always, many wonderful people volunteered to make this very special event possible. We are truly grateful to all who gave of their time, energy and creativity especially at this very busy time of the year and in the face of daunting winter weather. Fiesta Navideña
A pesar de la amenaza de una tormenta de nieve, la Fiesta Navideña anual de El Centro se llevó a cabo el Sábado, 14 de diciembre 2013, con cerca de 250 niños y padres que se unieron a las festividades. Las actividades incluyeron artes y artesanías, canto de canciones navideñas, almuerzo y refrescos, y por supuesto la visita tan esperada por Santa Claus con regalos para todos los niños asistentes. Los regalos de Navidad fueron posible a través de la generosidad de los donantes y la colecta de juguetes realizadas por miembros de la congregación del templo Har Shalom de Warren, por los estudiantes en Scotch Plains Fanwood High School, Escuela Técnica Profesional del Condado de Unión en Scotch Plains, y la Escuela St. Bernards Gill en Peapack Gladstone, y por los miembros de la congregación de la Iglesia Presbiteriana de Springfield. Como siempre, muchas personas maravillosas se ofrecieron como voluntarios para hacer este evento muy especial. Estamos muy agradecidos a todos los que dieron su tiempo, energía y creatividad, especialmente en ese momento muy ocupado del año y en el rostro de enormes proporciones de clima invernal.
